Former USC quarterback Caleb Williams spoke with the media at the NFL scouting combine over the weekend, but that’s about all he did in Indianapolis, as he opted out of workouts and medical testing.
But that didn’t stop the likely No. 1 pick in this year’s draft from making a strong impression on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The quarterback was seen taking in the workouts and cheering on former USC teammates. He was also seen doing something pretty classy after the workouts ended Saturday night.
Check out this report from NFL Network’s Peter Schrager:
Last player to leave the field Saturday night after the drills?

Caleb Williams.
Hung and said goodbye to all the folks who ran the drills and worked the event.
NFL fans loved it:
The people who claim Caleb Williams is a “diva” or has “character issues” have never actually met him or talked to anyone who has worked with him.

Everyone around Williams raves about him. https://t.co/zgbNdshac1
Absolute class act. He just hung out and supported everyone there. He needs to be my Quarterback https://t.co/GlfCllPNzD

Jayden Daniels chose not to get measured too btw. He didn’t stick around all weekend.

Caleb has been in the stands cheering on his USC guys & chopping it up with the rest of the boys regardless of school/position.
Dude loves ball. If you can’t see it yet you’re choosing not to https://t.co/tgwOkWZzj6
The mental gymnastics those who have called Caleb a diva, bad teammate, etc are having to go through must be exhausting.

Bc the more we learn about Caleb (from himself & others), the more it looks like he's the complete opposite of the BS narratives that were created about him. https://t.co/WFg8qvd8E6
All the haters who said Caleb Williams is a bad guy who is afraid to compete and would be more devoted to himself, his brand and his overbearing dad than to the NFL team that drafts him are awfully quiet right now. https://t.co/TrVB6cLAic

All week long the BS narratives about Williams have been destroyed one by one. It’s glorious.

The kid’s a stand-up guy, a good teammate, hard worker, and an insane talent. He’s the clear #1 pick. https://t.co/th8OJqJ3eR
He's the man to turn the franchise into a dynasty. I can't wait. https://t.co/VHjyaAwSoy
