The Chicago Bears were blown out by the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night, losing 30-13 in a game that never felt that close. They are now 2-6 on the season and are still without starting quarterback Justin Fields, who remains out with a thumb injury that he suffered in Week 6.
Undrafted rookie QB Tyson Bagent got his second start against the Chargers and while at times he looked OK, he threw zero TD passes and had two interceptions in the loss.
While it wasn’t the best performance, NBC’s Cris Collinsworth apparently saw some things he liked and had this to say about Fields and Bagent late in the game:

NFL fans were not impressed with that suggestion:
Cris Collinsworth just loves hearing himself talk, I don’t think he believes half of the things he says https://t.co/VDYsXXvm8D

Chris Collinsworth has to be on something, fields has 8 passing touchdowns, 600+ passing yards and 1 interception his last two full games, bagent in two starts has struggled to reach 1 touchdown to 3 interceptions on 400. https://t.co/oDWE93Oymn

My favorite part of the broadcast was when he was like, “Other than his interceptions and other passes that should’ve been intercepted, he’s played pretty well.”

I understand everyone is rooting for the guy, but don’t lie to yourself. https://t.co/mBgpqTcHpg
Way to say that in a blowout where he couldn’t even throw 7 yard outs lol https://t.co/PS212SeyBh
