The Miami Dolphins were stripped of their first-round pick by the NFL for an outrageous offer made to one of the league's superstars.
The NFL Draft will take place in Kansas City, and will finally bring an end to all the speculation on which collegiate stars will be drafted. In the past few days, players like CJ Stroud have seen their stock unexpectedly tumble whilst Las Vegas briefly suspended its betting odds on the second overall pick, after Will Levis became a surprise candidate to be selected by the Houston Texans.
What is a certainty is that each team will have their opportunity to make use of a first-round pick to boost their teams hopes for future success, be it drafting a potential-superstar or trading it away to give their team more capital for the seasons to come - Except for one team.
Unlike previous years, there will be only 31 selections made in the first round. On August 2nd of last year, the NFL announced the Miami Dolphins would forfeit their first round-pick, along with a 2024 fourth-round pick.
This came after an investigation into the team revealed it had violated league policies on tampering after contact was made with both Tom Brady and Sean Payton without permission from their teams at the time.
One of their alleged offers included giving Tom Brady part-ownership of the team whilst he was still playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
