If we are being honest, Dan Orlovsky is far more interesting as an NFL analyst than he ever was as an NFL quarterback. This is because, despite almost no success as a player, he has no qualms about dropping hot takes about current quarterbacks.
Orlovsky took a not-so-subtle shot at the Pittsburgh Steelers and their quarterback depth chart recently and we would be remiss if we didn’t share it with you.
“Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky are pretty much the same player,” Orlovsky said. “They are guys that are good athletes that use their legs to help them become better players. They are average with their accuracy and mechanically flawed.”
The idea that Trubisky and Pickett are basically the same player is sure to ruffle feathers among Steelers fans. Trubisky is a former first-round pick who is currently relegated to a backup job because he has failed to live up to expectations. Will this be Pickett’s fate as well? That remains to be seen but there will be no better way to quiet critics like Orlovsky than with success.
