NFC West standings: Rams fall to last place with 3rd straight loss

Coming into this season, the Rams had never been below .500 or ranked outside the top 11 in total offense under Sean McVay. Ten weeks into the season, the Rams are three games under .500 and are currently 31st in total offense.

With Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals, the Rams had another “first” happen. They’re in last place in the NFC West for the first time since McVay took over as the head coach. They lost a critical game to Arizona, sinking to 3-6 on the year – a half-game behind the Cardinals for third place in the division.

The Rams aren’t out of it yet because the division-leading Seahawks are only 6-4 and Los Angeles still has to face them twice, but time is running out. Here’s a look at the standings through Week 10.

  1. Seahawks: 6-4 (next: Bye)
  2. 49ers: 5-4 (at ARI)
  3. Cardinals: 4-6 (vs. SF)
  4. Rams: 3-6 (next: at NO)

Currently, the Rams are ahead of only three teams in the NFC. They’re 13th in the conference, a half-game ahead of the Panthers, Saints and Bears. The 49ers hold the last spot in the playoffs right now at 5-4 and the Rams lost both matchups with San Francisco, so they don’t have the tie-breaker if they finish with the same record.

Again, there’s time, but that time is also running out.
