American coach Jesse Marsch is the odds-on favourite to take over from Marcelo Bielsa as manager of Leeds United.
Rumours that Bielsa will depart Leeds United have ramped up following the 4-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur today, which left the Whites just two points above the relegation zone.
The result also prompted many bookies to suspend betting on the next Premier League manager to leave their job, with the betting interest instead switching to who will replace Marcelo Bielsa.
Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: "We have suspended the sack race market this evening with Marcelo Bielsa teetering on the brink of a sacking at Elland Road following another drubbing, this time at the hands of Spurs.”
The favourite to replace the popular Argentine is 48-year-old Marsch, a former US international, who is priced at 8/11 on Betfair. Marsch has managed sides in the MLS and Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg, who he led to league and cup honours. More recently he was in charge at RB Leipzig, but was sacked months into the job after poor results.
The second favourite is Huddersfield boss Carlos Corberan, who is 10/3 on Betfair, while former England and Bolton manager Sam Allardyce is third favourite at 6/1. Former Leeds midfielder Lee Bowyer is further down the list at 22/1.
