YAGAN can build on a return to winning form to lift the Become A Member At Chelmsford City Racecourse Handicap (8.00).
On the back of racking up a hat-trick of handicap successes in the first half of 2021, the Sir Mark Prescott-trained son of Australia drew a blank on his next six attempts. But Yagan was back in business in a handicap over a mile and three-quarters at Southwell at the end of August, beating Swaffham Bulbeck by three and a quarter lengths.
The handicapper has reacted with a 5lb rise in the weights to a new British Horseracing Authority rating of 69. Yagan is capable of going forward now that he has rediscovered the winning touch and can follow up.
Earlier at the Essex Showground, DORS TOYBOY is fancied to continue his good run of form by beating nine opponents for the Racing Welfare Handicap (6.30). Either first or second in four of his last five races, my selection followed a victory over course and distance in the middle of August with a neck second to Proud Fairy, again over seven furlongs at Chelmsford, four weeks ago.
