Newest LIV rebel fired warning to defectors and vowed he had "no interest" in joining series

Brendan Steele has reportedly become the latest golfer to join the controversial LIV Golf, having claimed just two months ago that it was "not something that I'm interested in".

According to ESPN, Steele has signed with LIV alongside Thomas Pieters and Danny Lee ahead of their second season, which is due to begin at the end of this week in Mexico. However, Steele's move comes mere months after he said he had no plans to quit the PGA Tour and jump to LIV.

Speaking in December ahead of the American Express PGA Tour event in La Quinta, Steele said: "I have not been approached. I think the way that it has mostly worked is that guys have gone and sought them out and told them they are interested.

"For me, it is not something that I'm interested in. So it hasn't really been any sort of a problem for me. But I don't hold it against guys for doing it."

Steele also warned golfers that had jumped to LIV to not "expect to come back and play on our tour", while also weighing in on the divide it has caused between players.

He added: "For me, I'm fine if guys want to go... I think they just have to make the best decision for them. But don't expect to come back and play on our tour.

"I think there's guys from all different viewpoints of it. There are guys that are like, 'If you want to go that's fine, just go and do their thing and don't try to come back and play our tour or try to do anything like that.

"But there's other guys that are really upset that this happened. It divided the tour and divided some of the best players in the world and so there's all different viewpoints on how a big deal it is or how upset people are."

Just last week, Mito Pereira and Sebastian Munoz were both unveiled as new LIV signings.
