Here are your latest Newcastle United transfer rumours for Saturday, April 8.
Newcastle to 'rival' Arsenal for Leicester City star
Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Leicester City star Youri Tielemans, according to Football Insider.
They report that the Magpies are set to battle it out with Arsenal for the Belgian midfielder, who is in talks with the Gunners for a free transfer come the end of the season. Tielemans is out of contract at the end of this term and would therefore leave Newcastle's war chest intact to tackle any other business should they look to secure his services.

If Newcastle finish in the top four, the lure of Champions League would no doubt help them persuade Tielemans that St James' Park would be an exciting opportunity to take the next step in his career. Even if Howe is not sold on a place in his starting XI for the Foxes playmaker, any club participating in the Champions League knows they need to bolster their squad depth in all areas across the pitch to compete on all fronts.
Eddie Howe identifies Newcastle's summer targets
Elsewhere, the Daily Mail's Craig Hope (via CaughtOffside) has claimed that Newcastle are looking to sign another centre-back and left-back in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Magpies have already proven the unrivalled quality of their defence throughout the current campaign, but now it seems that Howe is not keen to rest on his laurels to help bolster his backline.
“What I know is they’re interested in is another right-sided centre-back. Someone who can perhaps play second fiddle, but you know, a younger type to Fabian Schar,” Hope said.
“Maybe in the mould of a Sven Botman who they brought in, that type of profile 21/22, maybe from the continent someone who can come in and fill that role on the right-hand side probably initially as understudy to Schar. A specialist left-back as well.”
