Newcastle United supporters have told the club's hierarchy to invest in a Jonjo Shelvey replacement after the midfielder was ruled out for a further six to eight weeks. The midfielder has made just three appearances so far this season after a hamstring injury ruled him out for the majority of the campaign to date.
Shelvey was eased back into action heading into the winter break, with the Toon Army expecting to see him back in action, or in the squad, for the trip to the King Power. Instead, the Magpies midfielder has picked up another knock.
The former Liverpool midfielder has had his fair share of injury problems throughout his career and is heading into the final few months of his contract at St. James' Park. Eddie Howe made his stance clear on Shelvey when he arrived, with the head coach insisting the 30-year-old would be the focal point of the team in their fight against relegation.
