Newcastle United director Jamie Reuben has been linked with a move to buy Chelsea on a personal basis, according to widespread reports. The initial story emerged from Bloomberg that the former Queens Park Rangers board member was keen to spearhead a purchase of the Blues following Roman Abramovich's decision to sell up.
The Reuben family currently have a 10% stake in Newcastle but brothers David and Simon are worth £5.3billion each. Day to day business has been left to Jamie as part of the club's board but any attempt to buy a different Premier League would require the family to relinquish their shares in United due to competition rules.

Chronicle Live is yet to gain comment or reaction from the Reuben camp on the matter. Jamie Reuben could not be reached at this stage although the reports have only emerged in the last 24 hours.
Reuben has attended Newcastle games regularly and donned a black and white scarf in the stands and is cleary enjoying his time on board after the club's £300million takeover to buy out Mike Ashley.
