Sven Botman has been included in Holland's long list squad for the World Cup finals in Qatar. The Newcastle United centre-back took the decision to pull out of the Holland Under-21 squad after insisting he was focusing on life at Newcastle.
But Louis Van Gaal has included him on a list of 39 players who are under consideration for the tournament. Botman will learn whether he will be in the final squad of 26 on November 11.
When asked about Botman's U21 snub, Eddie Howe said last week: "I think everything gets blown out of all proportion. Sven was keen to continue his learning and development here in terms of adjusting to the Premier League.
"I think he's done that really well; certainly from the two weeks he's had with us, he's trained excellently and I think it's really benefited him.
"We were pleased to keep him because you have that control over what they're doing when they're here."
