A dental student was found to be over the limit when she was spotted travelling the wrong way down a one-way street.
Officers in a marked police car had began following Kayla Dodd through Newcastle city centre as they deemed her driving to be "erratic". A court heard the 23-year-old was then watched as she turned on to a one-way street in the wrong direction and narrowly missed an oncoming car.
At that point, Dodd was pulled over and arrested after she failed a roadside breath test. She later gave a reading of 44mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath when the legal limit is 35mcg.
