Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and the all-encompassing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate each provide numerous perks to subscribers, including unlimited access to the best Xbox Game Pass games and many more. It's often considered to be one of the greatest values in the video game industry, and Xbox is intent on driving that idea home with new additions to the services every single month.
Xbox Game Pass Core and Standard is available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One consoles. PC Game Pass is available on Windows PCs. Xbox Cloud Gaming grants remote access to hundreds of titles on practically any device through streaming. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, as the name implies, is the quintessential subscription that includes all the aforementioned services, online multiplayer, exclusive perks, and EA Play access. With new games arriving all the time, it can be easy to lose track of new additions.

You'll rarely go wrong with the diverse selection of games on Xbox Game Pass, but there are always a handful of titles that stand above the rest — including, but not limited to, exceptional indie games, addictive multiplayer games, expansive AAA games, and Microsoft's first-party titles and projects. These are the best new games that have recently arrived on Xbox Game Pass that you shouldn't hesitate to play.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

After many years of waiting, the long-awaited sequel in the STALKER franchise has arrived as an Xbox console exclusive and day one addition to Xbox and PC Game Pass. A nail-biting, atmospheric open-world shooter that throws you into a desperate struggle for survival in a radiation-sickened world, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl represents years of development, economic, and political hardship for the studio behind it.
In our S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl review, our Brendan Lowry concluded that, "STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl stands tall as one of the most captivating open-world shooters I've ever played, with palpable atmosphere and deeply rewarding exploration that kept me glued to my seat along with addictively intense and dynamic action that kept me on the edge of it. Some major issues with certain mutant encounters and noteworthy bugs and performance snags take away from the experience, but even so, The Zone will engross you with its haunting wonders. There's truly nothing else like it."

Spyro Reignited Trilogy

There are several classic platforming franchises that have captured the hearts of millions of young gamers, and several have enjoyed a fresh coat of modern paint to appeal to those grown-up fans or attract new players. The Spyro Reignited Trilogy is one of the best examples of these remasters, taking three legendary Spyro games (Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon) and overhauling them with refreshed visuals, modern controls, and quality-of-life improvements.
What you may not realize is that Spyro the Dragon is actually an Activision Blizzard franchise. That also means that, now, Spyro is officially a member of the Xbox family, standing alongside iconic mascots like the Master Chief from Halo. You can now consider Spyro's induction into the Xbox family finalized today, now that the Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a part of Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Dead Island 2

It only took a decade, but we finally have our sequel to one of the most infamous zombie-bashing franchises. Dead Island 2 is a surprisingly excellent follow-up despite its troubled development, and provides mindless, oddly satisfying fun with its brutal combat, spectacular gore effects, and goofy humor.
In our Dead Island 2 review, Samuel Tolbert concluded "Dead Island 2 is everything a Dead Island fan could ask for. Between its addicting combat mechanics, excellent character and gear progression systems, hilariously satirical writing, and goretastic presentation, this long-awaited sequel has proven it was worth the wait." This game has actually been on Game Pass, but now it's expanding to PC (and I figured some of you could use the reminder that you still have time to go play Dead Island 2 and bash some zombie brains).

Xbox Game Pass: All known upcoming launch games
Microsoft gives us updates on games heading to Xbox Game Pass a few weeks before those games become available, usually twice a month. However, Xbox and ID@Xbox events toss aside this expectation to announce a flurry of games that are hitting Xbox Game Pass day and date, meaning they're launching into the service when they land on Xbox platforms. That means day one access to all of these games for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, including some of the best upcoming Xbox games.
Many of these games are far enough out that they don't even have a release date, and we're not certain exactly which platforms they'll come to through Xbox Game Pass. Still, this list in our Xbox Game Pass guide will give you an idea of what to look out for in the future of Xbox Game Pass. We'll constantly update this list as we get new information about release dates, when games become available, and what platforms are getting them.
