New restaurant loved by Wayne Rooney and Real Housewives of Cheshire announces Newcastle Quayside opening date

A glamorous new restaurant and bar set to open in the former Las Iguanas venue on Newcastle's Quayside has announced when it will welcome its first diners this summer.

Victors will offer a modern Asian and American-inspired menu in picture-perfect surroundings that are said to have seen it earn a reputation as a "celeb haunt" attracting the likes of Wayne Rooney and The Real Housewives of Cheshire to its branches down south.

Now, the chain is getting ready to open its first North East eatery on Monday, July 18 following months of work to transform the former Las Iguanas venue into an Instagrammer's dream.

The Newcastle restaurant will feature coastal-inspired decor, with white-washed brick walls, rustic oak beams, and wisteria trees. Diners will also be able to take advantage of its large outside seating area, as they enjoy coffee, cocktails, lunch and dinner, as well as weekend brunch.

The opening follows the success of the three Victors restaurants in Alderley Edge, Hale and Oxford, and will create 50 new jobs.

Victors Newcastle is now taking bookings online for Monday, July 18 onwards, and is set to mark its opening by raising £5,000 for a North East charity. The restaurant is now asking people across the region to nominate a local charity via its Facebook page to receive the funds.

As part of its launch celebrations, it will hold two charity nights, giving the public a first look at the venue all while raising money for the chosen North East charity.

Victors Newcastle general manager, Rhiannon Smith, said: “After the success of our other venues across the UK, we are excited to be part of the Newcastle community and bring a completely new dining and bar experience to the region. The North East is a vibrant and welcoming place and as part of our launch we are on the hunt for a local charity to partner with and support.

“We are keen to support a charity that really resonates with our values and is important to the people living and working in the region, that’s why we are asking for nominations from you over on our Facebook page. Tell us which charity you think we should partner with and why they are important to you and we will announce our chosen partner later in the month.”

Nominations for the Victors charity partner are open on the Victors’ Facebook page, simply tag your chosen charity in the comments.
