New public holiday floated to create April long weekend

Only a select few million Australians are in line for an Anzac Day long weekend this year.

With that fact dawning on people planning their 2026 escapes, a state premier on Thursday flagged his government is in talks to create a new public holiday, accounting for Anzac Day falling on a Saturday.
