A NEW in-depth poll has suggested Scottish Labour could be almost completely wiped out from the UK Parliament if a General Election were held tomorrow.
According to YouGov's latest MRP poll, Labour would win 241 seats across the UK, 85 seats short of a majority.
Andy Burnham's party would only maintain control of seven constituencies north of the Border – Bathgate and Linlithgow, Dunfermline and Dollar, Edinburgh South, Edinburgh South West, Glasgow North, Lothian East, and Na h-Eileanan an Iar.
The SNP are projected to win 40 seats, an increase of 31, wiping out 29 Scottish Labour seats.
Meanwhile, the LibDems could pick up five seats, while the Tories are projected to win three, and Reform could secure two.

Professor John Curtice gives verdict
Polling expert Professor John Curtice spoke to The National about the results of the poll and what they mean for Scotland.
He pointed out that while Labour would not necessarily need to work with the SNP in the event of a hung parliament, Labour are placed in a "fragile position".
Prof Curtice added that the poll shows support for Labour collapsing in the devolved administrations, with the situation looking even more damaging for the party in Wales than in Scotland.

The big names who could lose their seats
Among those who could lose their seats to the SNP include energy minister Michael Shanks and Better Together campaign director Blair McDougall.
Alloa and Grangemouth MP Brian Leishman, who is on the left of the Labour Party, is set to lose his seat, coming in third (22%) behind Reform (23%) and the SNP (28%).
Joani Reid, who was suspended from Labour after her husband was arrested on suspicion of spying for China – but reinstated in July – is projected to lose her East Kilbride and Strathaven seat to the SNP, on 26 points compared to 28.
And Imogen Walker, the wife of disgraced Labour Together director Morgan McSweeney, could also lose her seat in Hamilton and Clyde Valley. The SNP are projected to win here on 29%, compared to Labour on 25% and Reform on 19%.
Scottish Secretary Douglas Alexander, meanwhile, is projected to keep his seat in Lothian East, winning 31% of the vote.
