The New Orleans Saints’ 2024 free agent class is projected to total 35 players, including fan-favorites like defensive end Cameron Jordan and wide receiver Rashid Shaheed, but there are a couple of important distinctions to remember as we preview the list. For one thing, the Saints could sign some of them to extensions ahead of time.
Different players carry different free agency statuses. Most of them are unrestricted, meaning they’ll be free to entertain offers from other teams. Some are going to be restricted free agents, which means the Saints will have at least the option to match any contract offers. And many young players (like Shaheed) are exclusive-rights free agents who will only be able to play for the Saints on a low-cost contract in 2024.
