New year, new shows and movies. January 2026 at HBO Max is starting strong with more medical drama stress, fantastical Westeros storytelling, and a true-life sports story, making for a tantalizing mix of content you won't want to miss.
First up is the return of "The Pitt" for season 2, which drops audiences back into a Pittsburgh trauma center as doctors and nurses face another lengthy, pulse-pounding day of medical cases. Then, fantasy fans can head back to Westeros with "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms," a more intimate, character-driven tale set long before "Game of Thrones" that follows Ser Duncan the Tall and his young squire Egg.
