It is mock draft season as the Arizona Cardinals are a little more than two months away from the actual draft. While most project the Cardinals will end up with Ohio State receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. with the fourth overall pick, if he gets selected before the fourth pick, things could change.
In a new NFL.com mock draft by Dan Parr, that is what happens.
The New England Patriots use the third pick to select Harrison because they use other picks to trade for Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields.
Here is what happens for the Cardinals as a result.
Cardinals and Falcons trade
The Falcons trade with the Cardinals, moving up from the eighth overall pick.
What would that cost?
It could cost the Falcons at least their second-round pick No. 43, giving the Cardinals two picks in the first round, two in the second and three in the third.
Pick No. 8: Washington WR Rome Odunze
Odunze reminds NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah of Larry Fitzgerald. He has size and skills and was dominant. He doesn’t have the Harrison last name but he should be an immediate impact.
Pick No. 27: Georgia OT Amarius Mims
The Cardinals grab a first-round tackle for the second straight year to pair with Paris Johnson. He only started eight games in college so he might not be able to start right away, but Mims and Johnson could protect Kyler Murray for years.
