New Jersey pizzeria owner allegedly explodes at family asking for knife to cut 5yo’s cake, calls it ‘inappropriate.’ Then she claims she’s the victim

An intense confrontation at a Jersey Shore pizzeria just went viral, all over a five-year-old’s birthday cake. Per the NY Post, the eatery found itself facing major social media backlash after the owner berated a group of customers who brought a birthday cake for a child. The incident occurred on August 2, 2026, at Joey Tomato’s, a long-standing slice shop located on the Jenkinson’s boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey.

Per the NY Post, the video was initially shared across multiple social media platforms, including TikTok, by Tom Jurkowski of Vintage New Jersey. Jurkowski stated that his family had gathered to celebrate his nephew’s fifth birthday. He claimed that the family had called ahead to secure permission to bring the cake and had already spent approximately $250 on four large pizzas and drinks.
