Matchmaking season is over in Fire Emblem: Three Hopes and fans will step into the shoes of an all-new hero to trounce soldiers by the thousands.
On Tuesday, Nintendo released a new trailer for Fire Emblem: Three Hopes that reveals an all-new protagonist named Shez. Most fans were expecting Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses to be the lead on this spinoff, but that’s not the case. Heck, the video opens with Byleth demolishing Shez in one-on-one combat, so who’s to say what’s going on in the storyline anymore.

Fire Emblem: Three Hopes was revealed during the February 2022 Nintendo Direct, much to the surprise of everyone. Despite taking place in the world of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, the gameplay is wildly different. Three Hopes is a Dynasty Warriors-like experience, just like the original Fire Emblem Warriors. However, Fire Emblem: Three Hopes will make you choose between three different factions, as in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, to progress the story.
We’ll find out how it all plays out when Fire Emblem: Three Hopes releases on June 24, 2022, for Nintendo Switch.
