The New England Patriots have been told to sign Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, with the 26-year-old tipped to fire Bill Belichick’s side back into Super Bowl contention.
The Ravens recently placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson, which means the 2019 MVP is free to negotiate with other NFL teams. If another organisation signs him to an offer sheet, Baltimore will have a chance to match the contract.
Belichick’s Patriots are not expected to make a move for Jackson this off-season - but former linebacker Rob Ninkovich believes the quarterback is a name that can help the team aim bigger and fire themselves back into Super Bowl contention in the post- Tom Brady era.
