New DWP cost of living payment map shows the number of £150 disability payments being made where you live

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed that individuals receiving nine different disability benefits will receive a payment of £150 starting from June 20. This payment is separate from the £301 cost of living sum that was given to eight million households earlier this year.

Over a two-week period starting from today, more than 6 million individuals who receive disability benefits will be eligible for the additional payment of £150. In Leeds, a total of £10.6 million will be distributed among 70,500 people. This means that approximately one in eleven people (9%) in Leeds will receive the £150 payment.

In Leeds, 70,500 people are elligible for the payment. The total amount of funds to be disbursed in Leeds is just over £10.5 million.

Those who are entitled to the payment do not need to apply for it as they will receive it automatically, according to the DWP.

The payment will appear on bank statements with the person's national insurance number followed by "DWP COL." However, individuals should remain cautious of scammers who may attempt to deceive them by using events like cost-of-living payments to obtain personal information or money.

In total, these payments amount to £1 billion, which will be used to support disabled individuals during the current cost of living crisis.
