A set of images have given people a sneak peek at a stunning new countryside wedding venue just 30 minutes from Glasgow's city centre that is set to launch next year.
Hillhead Farm – situated in Torrance, just a 30-minute drive from the city centre – has released an exclusive set of photos showcasing a glimpse of a wedding at the fairytale location. Found within 500 acres of secluded countryside just two and a half miles north of Milngavie, the venue’s centrepiece is a 230 sq metre Baya dome structure.
Built with sustainably sourced, construction-grade spruce timber, cladded with Siberian larch and topped with a waterproof, fireproof canopy, the dome is described as a "stand-out venue" and the ideal accompaniment for the stunning views of the surrounding rolling countryside.
The multipurpose events space – which is now taking bookings for 2023 – provides a blank canvas for couples keen to design their special day from scratch.
However, the Imrie family, who launched the business in June, say to-be-weds can choose to work with a list of Hillhead Farm’s recommended suppliers, including caterers Spitting Pig Scotland, stylists 88 Events and floral specialist Flowers by Marion.
Husband and wife duo Antoinette, 50, and John, 53, recently celebrated the wedding of daughter Jessica, 26, to new husband James Bedford at the venue, alongside their five other children Matt, 29, Ben, 24, Tabitha, 20, and Keziah, 17, (all Imrie) and Naomi Smart, 30.
Eldest son Matt said it was “emotional, but really special” to watch his little sister become the first person to tie the knot at the place they call home.
Matt said: “It was such a proud moment for me, not only as Jess’ big brother but also as one of the driving forces behind this new business venture for our family. My siblings and I invested more than £50,000 to bring this vision to life and I’m delighted to see that our hard work has paid off.
“We started building the dome less than two weeks before Jess and James’ big day, so this has been a real team effort from start to finish.
“From a business perspective, the wedding gave us the perfect opportunity to properly test the space as a venue and implement changes before what we anticipate will be a very busy wedding and events season in spring/summer 2023.
“We’re excited to continue working with our suppliers to help the business flourish and establish Hillhead Farm as one of the best, most unique event spaces that Glasgow has to offer.”
The multi-purpose events space is available to rent on a one or two-day basis from April to September each year, operating around the winter farming cycle and yearly lambing period.
Plans are also in place to build six luxury on-site accommodation pods later this year, capable of housing 12 guests.
