New CCTV footage shows man matching Barry McCullagh's description on day he went missing

Police are pursuing a new line of investigation in the search for Barry McCullagh who disappeared in Paisley more than two weeks ago.

New CCTV footage of the 40-year-old dad-of-two has shown a man matching Barry’s description walking along Lounsdale Road outside the Lord Lounsdale Pub around 5.33pm on Wednesday, October 5.

Before this, the last known sighting of Barry was on Corsebar Road at 5.20pm.

Barry, from Castlemilk, Glasgow, had been a patient at the Royal Alexandra Hospital at the time of his disappearance. He’d been receiving treatment as he’d been suffering from seizures.

It is thought that he was allowed outside for a smoke at the time he went missing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers in Paisley continue to appeal for information to help trace missing man Barry McCullagh.

“The 40-year-old, from Castlemilk, was last seen around 5.20pm on Wednesday, October 5 near to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, on Corsebar Road, Paisley. Barry is described as 5ft 9in in height, of medium build with short, black hair.

“When last seen, he was wearing navy jogging trousers, a black jumper with a zip, and silver trainers.

“It has now been over two weeks since Barry was last seen. Police are following up a possible sighting of Barry in Lounsdale Road, Paisley, at 5.33pm on October 5 near to the Lord Lounsdale Pub.

“Members of the public are asked to review private space CCTV and dash cam footage in that area for any sightings of Barry.

“Anyone with information on Barry’s whereabouts is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 3910 of 5 October, 2022.”
