The smell of chicken is in the Ayr as a top food franchise officially opened its doors today.
Black Rooster Peri Peri officially opened in Ayr town centre at 12 noon, with hungry customers already flocking to get their hands on tasty dishes including chicken wings, burritos and burgers.
The spacious restaurant, which has taken over the former Caffe Monza unit on the High Street, enjoys a modern look with a splash of bright interior and plush comfy booths for customers to enjoy their chicken delights including butterfly chicken, quesadillas and rice bowls.
Creating 15 new jobs for the area, the Ayr eatery is now the ‘flagship’ Black Rooster site for Ayrshire, following the sad closure of Irvine’s Black Rooster at the end of last year, after opening in June 2021.
Franchise owners Gerald Docherty and Joshua Lynch said they have been fans of the chicken eatery for years and are looking forward to serving the people of Ayr.
They previously said: “We are excited to bring the hugely successful franchise to the community of Ayr.
“Ayr was an obvious location when the opportunity arose – it has a great community of residents and businesses, and we can’t wait to meet customers – locals and passers-by alike.”
Chicken fans were quick to share their delight at the store opening today.
One commented: “Looks amazing, good to see something new in Ayr High Street.”
Another said: “This is going to me my new place for protien.”
The restaurant will be open from 12noon until 10pm seven days a week.
