New Black Panther film announced with David Jonsson to star as T’Challa’s son

  • British actor David Jonsson has been announced as the new lead for the upcoming Black Panther 3 film at Comic-Con.
  • Jonsson, 32, will portray Prince T’Challa II, the son of the original Black Panther character, previously played by the late Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020.
  • Known for his roles in HBO's Industry and the film Rye Lane , Jonsson was welcomed on stage by director Ryan Coogler.
  • Coogler will return to direct the third instalment, with Letitia Wright and Winston Duke also reprising their roles as Shuri and M'Baku, respectively.
  • Black Panther 3 is scheduled for release in cinemas on 15 December 2028.
