New Balbriggan distillery and visitor centre granted planning permission

A new distillery and visitor centre in Balbriggan was granted planning permission by Fingal County Council this week.

The planning application was lodged by Cassidy Consultants on behalf of Harvest Lodge Distillery. The project will generate 150 jobs on completion.

Local Councillor Tony Murphy said the granting of permission was "fantastic news". He said: “The development will consist of a distillery in Stephenstown which includes the provision of an ancillary visitor centre which will be a major boost to the local economy.

"Well done to Cassidy Consultants who managed the application on behalf of Harvest Lodge Distillery. This exciting new project will involve an investment of €100 Million for the town of Balbriggan and will generate approximately 150 jobs on completion.

"The project will be phased over 2 years and construction will be starting very soon. This will generate a tourism proposition for Balbriggan with expected annual visitors to the Harvest Lodge Distillery of over 50K."
