Google Maps will now show rental electrical scooters as a transport option on its journey planner for trips in both Newcastle and Sunderland.
The orange scooters available to hire on Tyneside and Wearside have been integrated with Google Maps.
The vehicles show up live on the Google Maps app's directions function, allowing users to see where their nearest E-scooter for hire is, how long it will take to reach it, how much power it has left, and the expected arrival time for the end of the journey.

Riders are redirected to the Neuron app for unlocking and payment after selecting a scooter on Google Maps.
Neuron has also partnered with CityMapper in Newcastle and Sunderland.
It says the link-up with Google Maps will be especially beneficial to those looking to link up gaps in their journeys that would usually require them to walk a mile or so.
George Symes, UK Regional Manager for Neuron said: “We are delighted to be integrating our E-scooter services in the UK with Google Maps. Since launching in the UK our e-scooters have rapidly become a go-to solution for first and last-mile journeys, providing a convenient link between home or work and their nearest bus stop or train station.
“By integrating our service with Google Maps we are making it simpler, and more convenient, than ever before to make an e-scooter part of your journey.”
The E-scooters were first introduced in Newcastle in February 2021 for a 12-month trial. The trial period is due to end on February 14, but the Department for Transport indicated that the trial period may be extended. Sunderland's E-scooter trial has already been extended to March 22.
