Netflix viewers hail 'creepiest' new horror which 'blows Annabelle out the water'

Netflix viewers have praised the arrival of 'The Doll' franchise onto the streaming platform, as many claim it's giving them 'nightmares'. Horror films featuring haunted dolls have long been a staple of the genre ever since the 1929 classic, The Great Gabbo.

In one of the newest additions to the genre, Netflix has added the Indonesian trilogy of The Doll films. These include The Doll, The Doll 2 and Sabrina - all are available to stream on the service, with viewers taking to Twitter describe the horrifying movies.

Hannah_monsanto wrote: "The Doll (2016), The Doll 2 (2017), Sabrina (2018) - okay I remember very little about these films but they all rock, director/writer/creator Rocky Soraya is a hoot. They blow all 3 Annabelles out of the water."

Another, called 1988Vor, typed: "The 3rd eye, The Doll, Sabrina..They're all scary!!! on Netflix." 2105rxh put: "Watching The Doll 3 on netflix. The movie is quite a remarkable. Its like The Chucky but in an Asian way."

Demolition99 wrote: "This Indonesian Netflix horror involves a creepy demonic doll trying to possess a human body. It takes more than a little inspiration from the Conjuring franchise but the look of the possessed doll/demon is enough to give a person nightmares."

Describing the first instalment of the franchise on Netflix, the platform said: "Eerie things begin to happen after a man gives his wife a doll, unaware it once belonged to a girl who was murdered."

The second release in the trilogy sees a mother use her deceased daughter's doll as a medium to communicate with her, but the "consequences are chilling". The last release of the trio features a toy manufacturer and his wife being terrorised by a demon after their orphaned niece tries to call her late mother's spirit.
