Netflix have announced a new docu-series called 'Quarterback', taking spectators through a unique-look of the NFL season through the eyes of the league's best quarterbacks.
Reigning Super Bowl champion and MVP Patrick Mahomes has been named as one of the headline figures in the new show, alongside Minnesota's Kirk Cousins and Atlanta's Marcus Mariota. In a statement released after the confirmation of the series, Mahomes said: "I'm excited for fans to get an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at an unforgettable season for the entire Chiefs organisation and for my family."
Mahomes' newly-formed 2PM Productions will produce the series and the 27-year-old has expressed his excitement of the series. "From welcoming home a new baby in the middle of the season to welcoming the Lombardi trophy back to Kansas City, our crew was there for it all. This new Netflix series will show the time, preparation and balance that it takes to be an NFL Quarterback and perform on the biggest stage."

Quarterback will be the first of several seasons that will provide NFL fans with the opportunity to receive an insight of the action on the field from the 2022 season. The players involved have been mic'd up for every single game of the season, for the first time in NFL history.
The document follows Netflix's successful 'Formula 1: Drive to Survive' series, which will see its season 5 premiere on February 24 2023. The streaming service has also had some success with the 'Break Point' and 'Full Swing' docu-series released this year.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix have only ordered one season, so far. It's said that the popular streaming service is also working on shows about the 2022 Tour de France and 2022 Qatar World Cup.
The show will premiere in the summer, with episodes set to contain footage of the quarterbacks on and off the field, inside huddles and inside their home with their families.
