Netflix has finally confirmed the release date of the new Luther film, as well as teasing fans with the upcoming crime-drama’s first trailer. Luther: The Fallen Sun follows the BBC’s hit series, which wrapped up in 2019 after five seasons.
The show’s star Idris Elba revealed the film had completing filming in September, with Netflix later releasing several first-look stills. Now, the streaming giant has given fans a brief glimpse of the popular detective with a teaser trailer, while confirming exactly when it will launch on the platform and in cinemas.
The clip offers few details about the film, only showing its brooding titular character shrouded in darkness as a voiceover says “Something’s coming.” Netflix’s official synopsis also gives little away regarding The Fallen Sun’s plot.
