Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu wished Iranians “Happy Holidays” in a video posted on X on Monday (16 March), after rumours spread that the Israeli prime minister had been killed or injured in an Iranian strike.
“To the brave people of Iran, I wish you, as I do every year, a happy holiday season, beginning with a festival of lights”, he said.
It comes after a video of Netanyahu buying coffee at a Jerusalem café sparked claims it was a deepfake.
However, The Independent verified the clip.
