Nemanja Matic thinks Manchester United's performance against Chelsea was an 'improvement'.
United welcomed Chelsea to Old Trafford on Thursday night. Chelsea took the lead in the second half of the match through Marcos Alonso, but United immediately responded to the visitors breaking the deadlock with a Cristiano Ronaldo equaliser.
Although Chelsea were the better side throughout the match, they were wasteful in the final third. Thomas Tuchel's side had 64 per cent possession and six shots on target compared to United's three on target yet they couldn't get the three points.

It was a pedestrian performance from United, but Matic explained after the game he still thought it was an improvement.
"Yeah, I think obviously it was improvement," Matic told Sky Sports.
"We played against a very good team that are tactically almost perfect, technically also they have great players and they also have a great manager. I think we played a good game. I wouldn't say we were much better than them, but it was an equal game.
"I think 1-1 is a fair result. They had more opportunities than us, but I think 1-1 is a fair result. It is always tough when you play against good teams, so we expected a tough game, but tonight we looked much better than the last couple of weeks.
"I think that is an improvement."
