Neil Young & Crazy Horse Announce National Tour and New Album

Neil Young Canadian-American singer-songwriter

Iconic musician Neil Young and his band, Crazy Horse, are hitting the road this spring for a national tour, marking their first road trip in a decade. Originally planned before the pandemic, the reunion was put on hold until now. The 16-date tour is set to kick off with two consecutive nights in San Diego on April 24th and 25th, before concluding in Chicago on May 23rd. Fans eagerly anticipate this tour, which follows the release of the new Neil Young & Crazy Horse album, 'Fu##in' Up.'

Before its all-format release on April 26th, the album will have a limited vinyl release on Record Store Day, April 20th. Titled 'Fu##in' Up,' the album features a collection of songs from the band's past, newly recorded in 2023. It offers a nostalgic glimpse into their musical history while bringing a fresh perspective to the compositions.

While the month-long tour may not cover all the desired cities, it includes several prominent urban areas, such as Queens, Toronto, Boston, Detroit, Phoenix, Austin, Dallas, Nashville, Atlanta, Huntsville, Bristow, Camden, and Bridgeport. Notably missing from the itinerary is Los Angeles, although San Diego presents an attractive option for fans willing to make the short journey.

Ticket sales for the tour have already begun with a Neil Young Archives pre-sale exclusively available to subscribers of his website. Additional advance sales will continue throughout the week, leading up to the general on-sale release on Friday at 10 a.m. ET on livenation.com. To enhance the experience, ticket buyers have the option to obtain a CD copy of the new album alongside their tickets, at no extra cost.

To combat secondary market scalping, tickets will be exclusively mobile-only and restricted from transfer, except through the Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange. This measure ensures that fans have fair access to tickets at their original price without any unfair markups.

Young's last extensive tour with Crazy Horse was back in 2014, and since then, fans have eagerly awaited their reunion on the road. In 2018, the band performed a handful of shows in central California, followed by a couple of Canadian gigs in early 2019. Plans for a wider tour in 2020 were inevitably shelved due to the pandemic. Even once the situation improved, Young expressed concerns about potential exposure for his audience and refrained from scheduling any tour dates.

In summer 2023, Young embarked on a solo tour before eventually reuniting the band for two special shows commemorating the 50th anniversary of L.A.'s Roxy. Recently, the group even performed a private show in Toronto for a birthday celebration in November.

The current lineup of Crazy Horse features Nils Lofgren joining original members Billy Talbot and Ralph Molina. While the tracklist for the new album of 'familiar songs' has yet to be revealed, fans can expect nine tracks spread across two LPs for the vinyl version. Young stated, 'In the spirit it's offered… made this for the Horse lovers. I can't stop it. The horse is runnin'. What a ride we have. I don't want to mess with the vibe. I am so happy to have this to share.'

Excitement is building as the tour approaches, and it promises to be a memorable experience for both longtime fans and newcomers. Neil Young & Crazy Horse continue to captivate audiences and leave an indelible mark on the music industry. Grab your tickets and buckle up for a ride you won't want to miss.
