Neil Warnock takes funny Celtic pop at radio host after Rangers Champions League qualification

Neil Warnock is delighted to see Rangers through to the Champions League group stages - although mate Alan Brazil's Celtic obsession doesn't leave him as chuffed.

The former Sheffield United manager has always said that Greenock Morton and the Light Blues are the two Scottish clubs he keeps tabs on. He has revelled in Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men reaching the elite European group stages with a 1-0 win away at Dutch giants PSV that sealed a 3-2 aggregate play-off success.

Now they join Celtic in the group stages of UEFA's premier competition, the first time it's happened in 15 years. Brazil is a die-hard Hoops supporter and speaking on the former player's talkSPORT breakfast show, Warnock has reminded him he doesn't quite get why in humorous fashion. But he acknowledges the size and scale of Rangers' achievement: "Like you said, Alan, it is great. I know you're a mad Celtic fan.

"You've always been a bit of an idiot like that. But when I look at the teams and Rangers doing it last night it's great for Scottish football, absolutely great.

"To be at that top level with all them names. You look at some of the names, Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona, Juventus."

There are some glamour names that both Glasgow clubs can be drawn against, with a spot in pot four meaning it's Europe's elite who will come to Glasgow for six Champions League matches, three each between Ibrox and Parkhead.
