Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon was denied a winning start in Cyprus after his Omonoia Nicosia side conceded a 92nd minute leveller during a 2-2 draw with Doxa.
Andronikos Kakoullis scored the first goal of his reign but a Berat Sadik goal 18 minutes from time levelled things up.
Tim Matavz struck five minutes later to restore the home lead as the Irishman looked to have guided his new team to victory, but Ismail Sassi's stoppage-time goal heaped more misery on the current Cypriot champions.
Lennon's arrival in Cyprus does not come at a good time for his new club. After winning the the nation's first division last season, they find themselves in the bottom six this term after a dismal league defence.
It showed in the tiny attendance as several empty seats were apparent as the usually fanatical Omonia fans were completely apathetic.
He's got a reputation as a manager who wears his heart on his sleeve and that showed no sign of flagging on foreign soil as the 50-year-old cut an animated figure on the touchline.
Lennon was able to call upon the likes of Hungarian international Adam Lang in his first XI while 18-capped Nigerian goalkeeper Francis Uzoho was between the sticks.
Having been out of of work since leaving his post as Celtic manager last year, he has been linked with several jobs in the past 12 months, including Sunderland and Aberdeen.
But he's opted for familiar colours as the ex-Hoops and Hibs boss goes for green again in Cyprus with Omonia.
After starting off in winning fashion, Lennon takes his men into a season-defining match with AEL Limassol during a Cypriot Cup quarter-final first leg.
