Neighbours heard 'loud bangs' after reports a gunman blasted a house after a car was set alight on a residential street. Police are investigating numerous recent disturbances on Heys Road in Prestwich and have now stepped up patrols in the area.

Officers and specialist search teams were stationed outside a house on Tuesday night (November 22) after being called to reports of 'damage' earlier in the day. Enquiries so far have lead police to believe a gunshots were fired at the house.

And last Friday (November 18) officers were called to an address on the same road to reports of an Audi on fire. The vehicle was parked unattended on a driveway of a nearby property. Witnesses reported seeing three white males running off shortly after the arson attack.
