Navi Mumbai: Lost and ailing Nepalese guard reunited with family after 13 yrs

NAVI MUMBAI: A 55-year-old security guard of Nepalese origin, Amar Bahadur Gurung, who had been missing for nearly 13 years, has finally been reunited with his Nepal based family, due to the efforts of a few Navi Mumbai based Gurkha guards and the Social and Evangelical Association for Love (SEAL) NGO. This is also the 500th reunification of rescued persons done by New Panvel based SEAL Ashram, which was established in 1999 in order to help the desperate and homeless persons.

The founder of Harmony Foundation, Dr Abraham Mathai, who is the chief patron of SEAL, told mediapersons on Friday: "SEAL Ashram has been doing exemplary humanitarian work for the last 24 years; which is why they could reach the 500th reunification of the rescued person (Gurung) today. This is the only social service organization I know which not only rescues homeless people, but also tries to reunite them with their families. I feel blessed to be associated with them.''
