Scotland defender Nathan Patterson is still waiting for his Everton after being named on the bench by new boss Frank Lampard.
The former Rangers right-back sealed a move worth an initial £11.5million to Goodison Park earlier in the January transfer window.
But with Everton struggling for form, Rafa Benitez was axed as boss just days after signing for the Toffees.
Duncan Ferguson took over the reins on a temporary basis, with Patterson dropping to the Under-23 side to make his first appearance for the club and being left out of the first-team picture.
Now on his third manager since his arrival, Frank Lampard named the 20-year-old on the bench for the FA Cup clash with Brentford.
They impressed in their first game under the former Chelsea midfielder and boss, running out comfortable 4-1 winners.
Lampard did take a look at his right-back options, but Patterson sat on the bench throughout the 90 minutes.
Former Celtic loanee Jonjoe Kenny was brought on for Anthony Gordon after 74 minutes.
It's not ideal for Steve Clarke who would have hoped to see the international receive minutes with the crucial World Cup playoff with Ukraine just around the corner but there's plenty of time for Patterson to make an impact before then.
