Nathan Ake's future at Manchester City remains in doubt as interest from Chelsea refuses to go away.
Despite the defender saying in June that he wanted to stay and fight for more minutes at the Etihad, being offered more at Stamford Bridge is understandably tempting. With Chelsea having lost two of their central defenders, Thomas Tuchel can tell Ake that he will be a bigger part of his plans than he has been for Pep Guardiola.
That doesn't mean that City will simply allow a transfer to happen though. They have been clear that they want considerably more than the £41m they paid Bournemouth for him two years ago, and need a replacement lined up because they will not risk having just three senior centre-backs for the new campaign.
