Natalie Portman has been learning how to survive in the wilderness in the new season of Running Wild With Bear Grylls: The Challenge.
The Hollywood actress, 41, joined 48-year-old Bear in Southern Utah, where she learned how to descend various canyons and filter water.
During the show, Natalie talked about her passion for the Marvel Universe and detailed the strict training regime she followed for her new role.
She also admitted to finding one particular moment on Bear's show "gross".
After a long trek, Natalie and Bear discovered a shallow pool of water, with the adventurer explaining they needed to filter and boil it before they could drink it.
"This water is really full of loads of dead flies and dirt and everything," Bear said before discussing what they could use as a filter.
Bear suggested they use a sock but realised they needed them, before offering his underpants. He cut his underwear with a knife as Natalie asked if he wanted some privacy.
"I mean it's not going to be perfectly clean," Bear said before Natalie joked: "That's an understatement."
As they got to work on filtering the water, Natalie admitted: "This is gross."
She later talked about how much she enjoys being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, after first starring as Jane Foster in Thor in 2011.
Natalie, who is currently starring in Thor: Love and Thunder, said: "I pinch myself every day, like this is really, really cool."
She added: "I loved that they had it as like a Thor, you know? Thor is a concept, not necessarily a singular person and I'm excited to make a movie that my son likes,' referring to her son, Aleph, 11.
She also said she followed a "super, super physical" training regime to prepare for the new film.
"There's also more flexibility in the Thor stuff. You can run and you can swim and you can do weight training. You can mix it all up. It's not quite so specific."
Natalie drank protein shakes and underwent gruelling gym sessions to beef up for the film.
She started training for the Thor role during lockdown and says it was hard to motivate herself.
On The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon she said: "I’ve had months of the pandemic, eating baked goods and laying in bed and feeling sorry for myself. I’m, like, super tired after working out.
"And during. And dreading before."
