Napoli striker Victor Osimhen gives update on future amid Manchester United transfer links

Napoli centre-forward Victor Osimhen has admitted anything could happen regarding his future this summer.

Manchester United are in the market for a striker and Osimhen has been linked with a move to Old Trafford. Cristiano Ronaldo, 37, scored a total of 24 goals in 39 appearances last season but he's the only recognised centre-forward at the club.

Osimhen contributed 18 goals and six assists in 32 appearances for Napoli last term and his performances have seen him linked with a transfer away from Italy. United, Arsenal and Saudi-backed Newcastle have been credited with an interest in the player.

The 23-year-old has now commented on those reports and he admitted that anything could happen this summer.

"My future? I know there are many rumours about Spain and England," Osimhen told Il Corriere dello Sport.

"But I don't think it's the right time to talk about it now that I'm with the national team. I don’t know what the future has in store for me, I know that anything can happen. Now, I want to go on holiday now and recharge and then we’ll think about the rest.”

United were interested in signing Darwin Nunez but they refused to be drawn into a bidding war with Liverpool.

Osimhen is contracted at Napoli until the summer of 2025.
