Naloxone given to 1,000 families to help reverse tide of overdoses

The Scottish Ambulance Service has handed out 1,000 Take Home Naloxone (THN) kits across Scotland.

Emergency crews gave the kits, which reverse the effects of heroin overdoses, to those most at risk and their family members.

Many of those to receive the medication were treated for overdoses in previous 999 callouts.
