Nairobi Tops Lonely Planet’s Best Cities List For 2024, Beating Paris And Montreal

Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, is basking in global glory after travel firm Lonely Planet ranked it number one in its Best in Travel 2024 cities. The city beat out Paris, France; Montreal, Canada; Mostar, Bosnia; and Philadelphia, USA, for the top spot. KENYA TOURISM BOARD/ X.

NAIROBI, Kenya — Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, has been named the world’s best city to visit in 2024 by Lonely Planet, a leading travel company. The French capital, Paris, takes second place, while Montreal in Canada takes third place.

Lonely Planet has published over 150 million books and lists the top 10 countries, regions and cities to visit. The company that has been publishing guidebooks on international travel since 1973 and is headquartered in the US.
