Mykhaylo Mudryk to Arsenal: Shakhtar Donetsk team-mates believe January transfer is a done deal

Arsenal target Mykhaylo Mudryk's team-mates believe he has already signed for the Gunners.

The winger is a key target for Mikel Arteta in the January transfer window, despite a widely publicised £100million price tag. The Gunners believe they can negotiate a lower fee with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Mudryk has continued to go from strength to strength over the past 18 months, including a fine Champions League group stage this season which saw him register three goals and two assists across six games.

The Ukrainian, who turns 22 years old in January, is now widely expected to leave Donetsk in the next transfer window and the Gunners appear to be the most likely destination, so much so that is an open secret in the Shakhtar dressing room.

"I like that he is focused only on himself, his and the team’s game," goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin said last month.

"Fans don’t really see that much. No one sees what he is doing away from the football field.

"All these transfer rumours affect him only in a positive way, because he enjoys what he does. And, in the team, we can tell him; ‘well, you’re already at Arsenal, let’s all go!'"
