He was best known under his nickname Mr Buttermilk Biscuits on the popular TLC show.

Announcing his death in a social media post at the weekend, a family member wrote: "Larry has fought the good fight. He has overcome some of the biggest Challenges he has ever had to face. Rest well Junior, you will be missed."

Larry earned his nickname after going viral for singing about the food in a chicken restaurant.

He featured in episode 13 of the series which was titled Larry's Journey.

Fans were gripped by Larry's story (TLC)

At the time, he weight 940 pounds and was bed bound. His story on the show differed from others as he had already undergone weight loss surgery previously.

Following his first procedure, he gained another 400 pounds and decided he needed help to shed the weight.

He was known to struggle with binge-eating habits and admitted on the show that he had a relationship with food that was "not normal".

Larry told the cameras at the time: "I eat to comfort myself. When I'm cooking, it's the only time I'm happy, besides when I'm eating."
