A man has been charged with murder after the body of a woman was discovered in a house.
Robert Massey, of Piele Road, Haydock, has today been charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder. The 43-year-old was arrested after the body of a woman was discovered at a house on Piele Road.
Merseyside Police arrived at a property on Piele Road on Wednesday, August 31 at around 9.05am after being called to concerns for the safety of a woman. Officers found a woman had died upon arrival.

Massey has been remanded into custody and will appear at Liverpool Remand Court tomorrow, Saturday, September 3. The murder victim was formally named by Merseyside Police as 49-year-old Jacqueline Forrest.
Tributes described 'Jakki' as a "funny" and "kind" person, who shared many "laughs" with friends. Floral tributes were left today on Piele Road for the 49-year-old.
A police spokesperson said: "We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident in Piele Road but are continuing to appeal for anyone with information to contact us via DM @MerPolCC, call 101 or contact @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 quoting log 234 of 31st August."
