An American murder suspect, Christofer Antonio Argueta Ramirez, 19, of Woodbridge, Va., was apprehended by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Washington Dulles International Airport as he attempted to board a one-way flight to El Salvador. The arrest took place at the departure gate around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Argueta Ramirez, one of two suspects in the death of Jose Guerrero, a 20-year-old who went missing in Virginia in late 2022, was intercepted by CBP officers who verified his identity and took him into custody. He was then handed over to Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police officers for further processing.

According to reports, Guerrero's family discovered his abandoned car in Woodbridge two days after his disappearance, with evidence of blood and a struggle inside. It was revealed that Guerrero and the suspects had arranged a drug deal on December 21 of that year, which escalated into a fatal altercation resulting in Guerrero being stabbed multiple times.

Calixte stated, 'Customs and Border Protection officers encounter all types of travelers arriving to and departing from the United States, including travelers wanted for allegedly committing seriously heinous offenses. CBP continues to work with our law enforcement partners to help capture dangerous fugitives and to return them to face justice.'
